Build 0.1.5 (Nov 3, 2022)Play
Updates:
- Battle rewards are now randomized between "Gain a Rune", "Learn a Spell", and "Upgrade a Spell"
- Added Battle Reward previews in the map scene
- Added an XP and leveling system and removed "Misc" rewards page - now the Energy, Hand Size, and Max
HP upgrades happen all together after XP-based Level-ups
- Fixed a bug with any "transfer X status" effects - so they always remove the right amount from the
character losing the status value.
- Fix to prevent multiples of one Additive Scene at the same time (this would be map events, panels,
and popups etc).
- A round of some UI polish! New panel and button images.
- A new "you died" scene that doesn't look like shit!
Build 0.1.3 (Oct 14, 2022)Play
Updates:
- Reworked Witch's starting deck and spells - now it's more focused on Poison.
- Trying an altered Witch dynamic - you gain Essence for EVERY spell used.
- Altered the Witch spells that previously gave you extra Essence.
- You now can't pick up a rune if you don't have the single-rune spell for it yet. In effect, this
just means that before unlocking new runes in a quest reward, you don't get to pick those runes up.
This prevents you from having a rune that you don't have a spell for yet.
- Changed the "beard comb" Relic to be "draw 4 and gain 4 Energy".
- Changed the "mahogany bookcase" Relic to "gain 1 extra shield when shielding".
- Moved the conversation "..." button to the same spot as the conversation confirm button.
- Fixed boss Beast death animation (previously the arm and leg didn't fade out)
Build 0.1.2: GameTester Integration (July 29, 2022)Play

- integrated GameTester.gg!! Soon I'll start a round of open testing on GameTester.gg - at that point,
anyone could go on there and get paid to playtest.
- a few more unlocks and Blessings

Build 0.1.1: Metaprogression (July 20, 2022)Play
Updates:
- Tons of work on the Metagame!!!
- Added Metagame scene(s) and a loose story framing
- "Squiggles McNutts" is a placeholder name, I'm open to ideas lol
- Added "Blessings" system (like Relics in StS)
- Reduced initial hero builds (extra starting runes/spells are unlocked)
- Reduced length and difficulty of first run (this will become the tutorial later on)
- Unlockable heros - you start with just the TreeFolk
- Added first few rounds of "Unlocks"
- (later I'll maybe add some method for testers to cut to a certain unlock progress state)
- Switched order of "Mosquito Swarm" effects
- Valexan is now immune to Thorn damage
- The Banished Guildsman now gains Symbiosis every turn (in effect, Poison is always healing for him)
Build 0.1.0: Various UI fixes and balancing (June 21, 2022)Play
Updates:
- Shuffled around some Beast spells to make Feeble a little less overuse-able
- "Sap" fixes - effect now works even if you are at full health. Also, flipped the order of hurt/heal
to heal/hurt so that you heal even if the battle ends when the enemy gets hurt.
- Some code refactoring to prep for adding metaprogression code. It's coming!!
- Changed tooltip scale to stay the same even when parent objects are scaled down/up.
- Fixed bug where enemy Rune tooltips (in enemy hand view) don't show up sometimes.
- Fixed bug where you could get a free spell by selecting runes during the Meld animation.
- Tweaks to the SeaStar/Dolphin ghost characters.
- Switched Strength to add 1 dmg per strength, instead of a multiplier. Same for Weakness.
- Various tweaks to hand/deck system to fix drawing bugs - this is still not done, though.
- Fixed issue with HyperToxicity - thanks @sodiumdebt!
- Altered Crystal spell - you don't have to have something to draw in order to use it.
Build 0.0.12: Status Icons Galore (May 26, 2022)Play
Updates:
- Spell damage amounts now highlighted to indicate a modifier has been applied (green if the amount is
higher than the base amt, orange if it's lower)
- Refactor to be able to show status quantities in tooltips
- Altered tooltips and spell text to show if Luck is a modifier too
- Added status icons for these spell effects:
- Gain energy when shielding
- next X spells cost 0 Energy
- Lose 1 Thorn every turn
- Added new statuses specific to spells:
- TreeFolk: Overgrowth (add thorn value to atk damage)
- TreeFolk: Mockery (enemy takes damage when you use a spell)
- TreeFolk: Glide (chance to draw when you use a spell)
- Witch: Stasis (if a spell has 2 of the same rune, echo one)
- Witch: Reflection (first spell of turn is doubled)
- Beast: Burrow (gain shield when you deal damage)
- Beast: Grievance (gain strength if shield is broken)
- Beast: Ferocity (double next damage dealt)
- Beast: Wrath (gain strength and take 5 Burn every turn)
- Valexan: Rose Perfume (Gains 2 shield whenever player casts a spell)
- Guildsman: Menace (Player takes damage when they cast a spell)
- Guildsman: Toxic Fumes (gain poison every turn)
- TreeFolk "Feather" spell now steals Odds from the enemy instead of just buffing your own.
Build 0.0.11: New Enemies!!! (May 13, 2022)Play
Updates:
- New enemies galore!! Added 12 new enemies and tons of new battles.
- Alterations to enemy turn sequence - all "before turn" events happen, then all enemy turns, then all
"after turn" events.
- Fixed Stun timing - now 1 Stun only affects 1 hand redraw (it was hanging over to 2).
- Permanently removed the test enemies - Shadow and the Swooping/Shielding/Scaredy Bats.
- Changed default volume to 50% instead of 100%.
Build 0.0.10 (Cinco de Mayo 2022)

- Simplified most enemies so that their turn is more predictable and "strategizable"
- Redid "Banished Guildsman" buildout
- Altered Classless rune color so it doesn't appear disabled
- FINALLY fixed bug with TreeFolk Greed spell locking the UI (thanks @deters)

- Added "Essence" status and changed witch spells to use - this replaces the alternating Hex rule
- Crystal = Draw 1 and gain 1 Essence
- Crystal+Crystal = Next turn, gain 1 Energy and 2 Essence.
- Stone+Stick = Attack, buffed by Essence. Lose 1 Essence.
- Stone+Leaf = Shield, buffed by Essence. Lose 1 Essence.
- Stone+Mushroom = Poison, buffed by Essence. Lose 1 Essence.
- Stone+Mushroom+Crystal = After every turn, gain 2 Essence and take 3 damage (one-shot)

Build 0.0.4 (March 5, 2022)
Updates:
- "Continue" option on home screen!!! - you can now return to a run in-progress!
- Saving happens in these cases:
- when clicking "Begin" after selecting character
- when confirming navigation to a new map node (save file reloads into the Map with the event
dialog open, or to the Battle)
- when a battle ends, either death or victory
- Whenever player stats are updated as the result of battle rewards or map events
- Note that battles half-finished aren't saved - so reloading the save file just starts that
battle again.
Build 0.0.3 (Feb 22, 2022)
Updates:
- Changed selection screens - "skip" now looks like a secondary call-to-action, and triggers a
confirmation modal instead of skipping right away.
- Map events have a lot more possible outcomes now, and are are randomized. Notably:
- Shrine "leave a rune" choice: Chance to heal to full health or get a random rune back
- Shrine "pray" choice: varied outcomes, chance to upgrade random spell, chance for nothing to
happen
- Shrine "steal food" choice: various positive effects paired with negative effects
- Trollbooth "give a rune" choice: chance the troll doesn't want your rune... and something
happens!
- Trollbooth "refuse to pay" choice: varied outcomes, chance you get away with no problems
- Trollbooth "make a deal" choice: chance to gain positive effects after making deal
- Added and altered a few TreeFolk/Witch spells
- Added "costs X" spells - they use your remaining Energy and multiply something X times.
- Altered some Beast spells to use the above dynamic
Build 0.0.2 (Jan 30, 2022)

NEW CHARACTER CLASS: "Beast" - play style focuses on strength/damage scaling, discarding, and
inconveniencing the enemy. Spells are a work in progress, let me know what you think!
- new TreeFolk spells:
- "Lucky Arrow" (Feather/Stick/Leaf): 5% chance of doing lots of damage, but gives you bad
luck
- "Lunacy" (Moonlight/Stick/Leaf): target discards per stack of Confusion
- new Witch spells:
- "HyperToxicity" (Mushroom/Stick/Leaf): transfer all Poison in play to the target.
- "Haruspex Dagger" (Crystal/Stick/Leaf): deal 6 dmg; if it hits (not shield) draw 1 and gain 1
Energy
- new enemy: "Nesting Bear" - a matryoshka doll bear that "splits" into smaller bears over time, and
has
some spells that cause random positive/negative effects
- refactors and bug fixes around rune discard/draw/hand cycle
- removed most battles with the "shadow" enemy - to be replaced by something later
